Principal's Message

Welcome

Dear ICS students, staff  and families,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year! We are happy to reconnect with returning families, and to welcome all the new families to the ICS school community.

This year promises to be a great and fun year. Students are able to engage in a variety of curricular and extracurricular activities, to go on school trips, and to gather in assemblies or liturgies together. We will certainly use those opportunities to build our relationships and enhance a positive school climate. One of our first steps toward building these relationships is engaging with our School Theme for this year:  “Stronger Together”.

The theme for Catholic Education Week this year is We are many, We are one. This theme really resonates with what we are about at ICS, a welcoming and inclusive faith-based community. We invite families to join us by volunteering time to support our learning, and by coming to our special school events. This is YOUR school and you are always welcome.

This year, we will focus on improving the mental health and well-being of students and staff, as well as continue our work on equity, diversity and inclusion. Early literacy will be a major curriculum focus, using strategies that align with the Science of Reading to improve our students’ literacy skills. We invite families to support children’s learning by providing opportunities for reading, writing and oral communication at home, as well as by communicating regularly with the school team. Together we can help our students learn and apply their learning

Wishing everyone a fantastic school year 2023-2024!
